This term, Year 5 have the amazing opportunity to take part in a series of squash lessons with a member of Folkestone Squash Academy.
We have already had our first lesson which started with some ball control skills. The children had to try and roll the squash ball to try and hit some cones which they then took back to their team. Although this looked easy, it became trickier as the game went on as there was less cones to aim for.
After this, they worked on their racket skills and got a good feel of how to control the ball with the racket. Again, although this looked easy, a lot of the children commented on how tricky it actually was.
The children were engaged and listened well. I am very excited to see how their skills progress during the course of the term.
