Year 3 Ancient Egyptian Workshop at The Beaney

Year 3 went on the bus to The Beaney in Canterbury. We took part in a mummification activity where a Pharaoh who unfairly taxed his people after a drought was murdered! Anubis then weighed his heart to see if he could go to the afterlife… he could not. We then worked in groups to mummify different animals, adding amulets as we bandaged. After that, we explored the Anicent Egyptian artefacts in the museum (highlight was a mummified cat) and wrote our names in hieroglyphics on papyrus.
