We were treated to a very exciting fifteen minutes this afternoon when it decided to hail during COOL time. The Ducklings were squealing with delight as the hailstones bounced around them, their tiny hands eagerly scooping up the icy pellets. They marveled at the cold, pressing the hard beads against their palms, only to feel them melt away into tiny puddles of water. Their curiosity deepened as they compared hail to snow—solid and heavy rather than soft and fluffy—wondering how both come from the sky yet feel so different. It was a joy to see their eyes wide with awe, as they watched the frozen bits vanish before their eyes, the magic of nature unfolding in their grasp. Laughter and excitement filled the air as they chased after the fleeting, frosty treasure, savoring the brief but thrilling encounter with this playful surprise.
