What a fantastic first week we had in story club! We started off by delving into the story bag to reveal some clues. The first clue was a claw-like looking foot. The second was a pair of beady orange eyes and the third was some purple prickles. The children guessed correctly that our story of the week was ‘The Gruffalo’ written by Julia Donaldson. The children listened to the story beautifully and joined in with the parts they knew.
The children were then given a task to make a collage of the Gruffalo using key features of his appearance: orange eyes, purple prickles, poisonous wart and a black tongue. As you can see, the creations were super!
I am very much looking forward to getting to know the children and having lots of fun with them over the course of the term.
