This term in Year 6 the children are letting their imagination and creativity flow by designing their own playgrounds. The children have thought about what equipment they would like in their playground and have had to consider the following design criteria:
It must be safe.
It must be fun.
There must be something to climb up.
There must be somewhere to hide inside.
There must be something that moves.
There must be enough space around each piece of apparatus.
During the first week the children formed groups and drew out their plans. This week they have begun to construct their playground equipment. The children have been safely using hack saws and bench hooks to cut wood for their structures and also using hot glue guns to secure their materials.
