Owls Get Baking!

To finish our learning on weather the children baked their own biscuits in the shapes of stars, clouds, suns, moons and raindrops.

The children worked in groups of seven and put their recent math's skills of measuring using scales to good use. They independently read the instructions and measured out their own ingredients. I was very impressed with their precision and ability to carefully pour and measure the ingredients.

They also used their amazing reading skills to read and follow each step appropriately.

We also used this session as an opportunity to discuss the importance of hygiene. We spoke about how we must wash our hands before making and eating food and that all of the equipment and surfaces had to be heavily wiped down and safely sterilised by an adult.

Tomorrow the children will get to try their biscuits and they will re-write their own instructions!
