Mini London Marathon

This week the whole school took a trip up the Leas to participate in a mini London marathon. The event was not a race, we were raising money for cancer research, the distance is 2.6 miles which is a tenth of the full marathon. Following a warm up session, the children set off at the Leas Cliff Hall and ran or walked, or often a mixture of both, to the top of the Leas and back again. When arriving back at the start, they each received a sticker and turned on their heels and did it all over again. The effort the children put in to their individual attempt was amazing, they should all feel very very proud of themselves. The weather turned out to be perfect for the occasion and behaviour was brilliant. We are proud of the children in our school.
