Mayor of Folkestone

Today we were very lucky to have Abena Akuffo-Kelly, the Mayor of Folkestone, come to our school. While she was here, she visited each class explaining who she was and answered questions about her role as Mayor. Each class looked at the gold badge she wears around her neck while they tried to work out who the man and lady were that are depicted on it. Some of the children even won a sweet if they could name the man, William Harvey, quickly. It was lovely to meet our Mayor and be reminded of the importance of St Eanswythe to the town of Folkestone.
