Year 3 and 4 participated in an interesting Martial Arts session where we thought about self defense and spoke about the dedication behind the sport of Karate. Alongside the teacher, we also had Chelsey from year 3 as a co-teacher who helped to guide and demonstrate the session.
The children were shown several moves that would be used in this sport including defensive blocks and kicks. The children also thought about non-physical strategies that they could use if they ever needed help.
