This week, Year 5 took part in a Kic Theatre workshop with Ian. Our history topic this term is The Transatlantic Slave Trade and the children explored this through drama.
The workshop began with warm ups of acting like the most powerful person in the room and the least powerful. It was very interesting to see how the children developed the contrasting characters. They then moved on to think about the conditions on board the salve ships and the process of slave auctions.
This was a very sensitive topic and the children carried out the drama tasks with maturity and empathy. Well done Year 5.
