Friday Computing Creativity

Friday 10th May

Every computing lesson begins with a discussion on how to stay safe when online. The children are taught to be SMART.

S = Stay safe

M = never Meet

A = should I Accept?

R = is it Reliable

T = Tell

When was the last time you spoke with your child about staying safe online?

In year 6, the children started a topic on creating quizzes. The children were given the task of creating a quiz, which Reception could enjoy. Each quiz had the focus of Goldilocks and the three bears. Each quiz was different, some created pairs games, other puzzles. In the afternoon, the Reception class had great fun exploring the quizzes. Well done year 6.

In year 5, the children began a new topic creating concept maps. The focus was on St Eanswythe’s Primary School. The children recorded their favourite teachers, subjects and friends.

Year 4: The children continued researching using search engines. The children were able to answer questions while also applying their copying and pasting shortcuts.

Year 3: This week, the children began a short topic on simulations. The children discussed the advantages and disadvantages of using a simulation.

Year 2: This week, the children explored surrealism art.

Year 1: This week the children continued to explore coding, making a snail move a set number of paces.

Reception: This week the children went to the computer room and logged onto Purple Mash independently. Most children in the class achieved this task. The children then enjoyed exploring work, created by year 6.
