Friday Bytes: Our Computing Lessons.

Friday 19th March

Every computing lesson begins with a discussion on how to stay safe when online. The children are taught to be SMART.

S = Stay safe

M = never Meet

A = should I Accept?

R = is it Reliable

T = Tell

In year 6, the children began a topic on identifying the difference between the Internet and the World Wide Web. This was a little tricky. If your child would like to find out more at home, please look on the following webpage: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zkcqn39/articles/z2nbgk7#z94tn9q

In year 5, the children continued designing and creating. This week they designed their own 3D trucks.

Year 4: The children continued to use the 2Animation tool to create a simple moving ball. However, this involved over thirty frames. They then saved them onto the shared area on Purple Mash for adults at home to see.

Year 3: This week, the children continued learning about branching databases. Today the children began creating a simple database, classifying and identifying different animals.

Year 2: This week, the children looked at pointillism. This is a specific type of art using dots. The children created their own pictures using this style.

Year 1: This week the children continued to explore coding.

Reception: This week most children logged onto Purple Mash on their own and created their own dinosaur scene.
