Just before Christmas, the Reception class embarked on an exciting adventure to Folkestone Museum for a fantastic dinosaur workshop. This hands-on learning experience gave the children the chance to explore the prehistoric world in a fun and interactive way.
Upon arrival, the children were greeted with an array of fascinating fossils, sparking their imaginations as they learned about the ancient creatures that once roamed the Earth. They had the opportunity to handle real fossils, discovering how these ancient remnants help us understand life many years ago.
The children also took part in a thrilling museum hunt, exploring the exhibits to find hidden dinosaur-themed treasures. It was a wonderful way to engage them with the museum's displays while encouraging teamwork and problem-solving.
As a highlight of the day, the children had the chance to get creative by making their own fossil tiles. Using clay, they pressed objects to create impressions, mimicking the process of how fossils are formed. The children loved seeing their creations take shape, and they were eager to share their new knowledge with their families.
This memorable trip was a perfect way to wrap up the term, combining learning and fun in a truly hands-on environment. A big thank you to Folkestone Museum for providing such a wonderful experience! We look forward to more exciting adventures in the new year.
