Fantastic Friday Fun!

Friday 3rd May

Every computing lesson begins with a discussion on how to stay safe when online. The children are taught to be SMART.

S = Stay safe

M = never Meet

A = should I Accept?

R = is it Reliable

T = Tell

Please take the time to speak with your child/children about how to stay safe while online.

In year 6, the children completed a topic on identifying key computing language and researching the man who created the World Wide Web.

In year 5, the children completed their topic on designing and creating. This week they designed their own people.

Year 4: The children began researching using search engines. The children were able to answer questions while also applying their copying and pasting shortcuts.

Year 3: This week, the children continued learning about branching databases on fruits. This was tricky but well done to all the children for their hard work.

Year 2: This week, the children looked at the work of William Morris. The children looked at examples of his work and began creating their own art, in the same style. The art was so good; the children asked if they could take a copy home.

Year 1: This week the children continued to explore coding, this week they recapped making aeroplanes take off and then moved onto making ghosts, bats and skeletons move.

Reception: This week the children went to the computer room and began logging onto Purple Mash. Lots of them are developing their mouse control and fine motor control. Some children created pictures, while others enjoyed a dinosaur game.
