Fantastic Friday

This week in computing .....

Every computing lesson begins with a discussion on how to stay safe when online. The children are taught to be SMART.

S = Stay safe

M = never Meet

A = should I Accept?

R = is it Reliable

T = Tell

In year 6, the children started a topic on creating their own text adventures. For this, the children will plan, design and create their own ‘choose your own adventure’ story based on Little Red Riding Hood.

In year 5, the children began designing and creating their own 2DIY computer game. The children chose their own theme, ranging from haunted castles, rainforests, through to Niall Horan and One Direction.

Year 4: The children completed their own newspapers, based on the messages they have received over the last few weeks.

Year 3: This week, the children began a topic on how to use email. Today, the children thought about different methods of communication and their advantages and disadvantages.

Year 2: This week, the children explored the vocabulary linked to using the internet. This was a little tricky but the children tried their hardest.

Year 1: This week the children began creating their own EBooks.

Reception: The class continued to learn how to login with greater independence and many of the children are able to login independently, which is amazing.  They also designed their own flowers, linking to their topic on plants.
