Counting On in Year One

Today in Maths we began our learning with counting on. This is a tricky concept that we need to learn to ensure we can count on from any number. We started our session off with a fun hunt around the playground. Each child had to find a spoon with their name on it, each spoon had a number written on it too. Once each child had found their spoon, they had to go over to the large number line on the playground and find the same number that was written on their spoon. They then practised counting on from their number, seeing how high they could get!
