Canterbury Cathedral Visit

St Eanswythe’s Worship Leaders and Confirmation candidates visited Canterbury Cathedral this week. We had a fantastic time learning about the incredible history and fascinating religious aspects of the beautiful building. In the morning we had the opportunity to dress up as pilgrims and monks ready for our tour. We took a journey through history learning about our roles from the past and how they would have used parts of the cathedral. We learnt about how the monks lived and worshiped and also the journey that the pilgrims would have made during their pilgrimage. We also learnt some amazing facts about how the Cathedral had inspired Harry Potter Author JK Rowling! After lunch we then took part in a workshop in which we created pieces of art based on what we had discovered during our Cathedral tour. We had a fantastic day admiring a local and beautiful piece of English history!
